THE BASICS

Mediation is a voluntary and collaborative process in which a neutral person (the mediator) will help the mediating parties attempt to resolve their dispute. The mediator’s role is to facilitate, not to judge the parties or their dispute. Compared to litigation, mediation can be a relatively quick, effective, and less stressful method of resolving disputes involving animals. Mediation is private and confidential.

In some disputes, parties have starkly different perspectives. Despite having different perspectives, with curiosity and good intentions parties can resolve their differences collaboratively.

Your dispute about an animal might be resolvable more efficiently and more easily through mediation than litigation.

With a mediator’s delicate touch, and parties willing to explore possibilities, the mediation process can allow disputing parties to avoid prolonged and expensive litigation.
